The likely Juventus lineup vs. Inter: Vlahovic-Chiesa, midfield quandary

The two league leaders, Juventus and Inter, square off this evening at the Allianz Stadium.

Currently topping the charts, many people believe that the Nerazzurri should win the Scudetto. Even so, the Old Lady’s deficit is only a few points. Thus, it is impossible to overestimate the significance of this Derby d’Italia.

How will Max Allegri arrange his team for the major match?

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Juventus coach has made the decision to revive Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic’s combination.

With four goals apiece, the two former Fiorentina players led the 3-5-2 formation at the beginning of the season.

Although Moise Kean has been starting with Chiesa lately, this evening Vlahovic is expected to replace the former Everton striker.

However, the real problem is in the middle of the park, where Manuel Locatelli’s quick recovery caused some people to take notice.

The 25-year-old is now prepared to play as a Regista, but it’s unclear if Allegri will put him at risk right away.

The insider predicts that Locatelli will start slightly ahead of Fabio Miretti (45%), with Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie rounding out the midfield trio.

Filip Kostic will take up the left wing position on the wings, with Andrea Cambiaso covering for the injured Timothy Weah in the right lane.

Finally, even with Alex Sandro’s return from injury, Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, and Daniele Rugani should all continue to play at the back.

Juventus Probabale XI (3-5-2): Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli (Miretti), Rabiot, Kostic; Chiesa, Vlahovic; Szczesny, Gatti, Bremer, Rugani
